Product Pulse: New Order Types

This year, Abridge applied ambient AI to one of the most cognitively demanding parts of clinical documentation: remembering, searching for, and placing orders.First was Medication Orders, which enables ambulatory clinicians to speak naturally during the visit and see draft orders surface directly after the visit inside the electronic health record and matched to their organization’s preference lists and workflows.
We’ve since expanded on that foundation with support for additional order types–including labs, imaging, referrals, procedures, follow-ups, activities, immunizations, and more.
Abridge listens for clinicians’ spoken intent, interprets that intent in clinical context, and surfaces order suggestions that align with each health system’s order catalog and preference lists. This technology is powered by Abridge’s Contextual Reasoning Engine (CRE), transforming natural conversation into structured, actionable orders.
This is just the start of more workflow support to come, innovated and designed in partnership with the clinicians who use Abridge every day.
